The Good Sheppard

Text: Psalms 23

The right spirit when something goes wrong

Compassion:

1. Lamb follows an attempted Sheppard.
    A. Jesus is our Sheppard.
2. Lamb rarely knows what is best for itself.
    A. God gives us what he knows what is best.
3. Lamb wonders from the Sheppard.
    A. God gathers us and loves us always (Isaiah 53:6)
4. Lamb is frightened of the unknown.
    A. God protects us (Proverbs 14:2)

How is your spirit today?
Six ways to guide our spirit

1. Spirit of Content - Psalms 23:1, Philippians 4:11, Hebrew 13:5

• God #1 You will be Content

2. Spirit of Calmness - Psalms 23:2, Mark 4:35-41

• God #1 You will be Calm
• Life storm and out of control God is not sleeping
• Trust the Lord in prayers (Psalms 43:10)

3. Spirit of Christ-likeness - Psalms 23:3

• If we follow him he would lead us
• Why? his rep is on the line (Prov 22:1, Eccl 1:7)

4. Spirit of Comfort - Psalms 23:4, Matt 5:45

• God comfort us through our storm.
• Only if you trust in him, and make him your good Sheppard.
• Why bad things happen to good people? that is not the question we should be asked. (Exodus 3:7)
• God knows but we must make him the good Sheppard.

5. Spirit of Celebration - Psalms 23:5

• God is always there, do not stop serving God during a bad storm at the end you will be celebrating.

6. Spirit of Consistency - Psalms 23:6, Proverbs 28:26

• For everything 1-5 we must stay consistent, staying faithful to God so he can stay with us as a good Sheppard.

The Revival America Needs

Text: Psalms 33:12

We need to get back to our principals

Revival begins inside the church house.
1. See revival of liberty
     Romans 8:21

• The rules are for liberty, not misery.
• Liberty is found in Christ.

Ephesians 6:12

• Watch against oppression, freedom isn't free
• Defend our spiritual liberty (Prov 2:11) sin is fun only for a season.

2. Revival of Leadership

• We are tired of our government.
• How do we fix this? Look into history, George Washington-proved his loyalty, lead by example, sacrifice, respected, and loved.

Matthew 22:10

• Serve to God, be a better servant to God
• Revival of Leadership

Vs 18 - What kind of Christian
Vs 19 - What he is serving
Vs 20 - What he preached
Vs 21 - What he is testifying

He had a vision (Paul), do we have the vision to finish?

Vs 24 - Do the finish line with Joy, Right!

"If you aim at nothing you will hit it everytime"

How did Jesus finish his run? he guided his disciples

1. Acts 20:28
     Take need (take control of our spiritual life)
     Take care of yourself first

     Mark 3:14
     That they should be with him.
     Take care of your spiritual life first.

2. Take heed to minister to others, everyone is special in the eye of the Lord. Keep God first so you can feed others.

     Acts 20:29
Vs 29 - Be watchful, be careful and on guard from Satan.
Vs 30 - Of yourself, do not estimate man among us, you can tell by there fruit of there spirit.

     Jude 1:16
Vs 31 - Watchful, warn & pray
Vs 32 - Commending (to intrust)

• to God
• to Build you (in his word)
• to Give (inheritance)

Live by Faith, in the word

33:35 Coveted (it is more blessed to give than to receive) Spiritually Strong

Vs 36-38 - That they will no longer see them, left with just prayer.
