Bible Study Idea #5

The A.E.I.O.U Bible Study Method

The A.E.I.O.U method of the Bible reading and study is a fun way to approach the Word.

A-stands for "Ask Questions" (We have the who, what, when, where, why and how) you can ask for better clarity and understanding of the word.
E-stands for "Emphasize keywords and Phrases" Notice what words stand out in the text or are repeated. (Dictionary for a definition)
I-stands for "in your own words" Try writing a brief summary of the text. Paraphrase it. (This helps if you are sleepy and ready to give in to the flesh)
O-stands for"Other related scriptures" Notice the cross-references, or try to think of other places in the Bible that refer to something about what you're reading. (Concordance for references)
U-stand for "Use what you've read" Make this an application of yourself.

Focus on the last letter, you don't want to just read and go away unchanged or unmotivated. Find something to put into practice, to memorize, or to share with others. In other words, respond to what you've read. "But ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22

Bible Study Idea #4

We can approach the Word of God in so many ways, and some of these techniques help us get a fresh vision of God's purpose in giving us the Scriptures. When studying you need to have a dictionary and a concordance nearby.

The S.O.A.K or P Bible Study Method

S-stands for "Scripture" (write down the scripture you are studying).
O-stands for "Observation" (What stands out to you)
A-stands for "Application" (What is God saying to you), How can you apply them to your life?
K or P-stands for"Kneeling or Prayer" (Pray and confess your sins, praise him for the things he has done)

This method is more focusing on the scripture, memorization and what does the bible have to say about your living and what you need to do to follow the word of God.
