Bible Study-10 Rules for a Blessed Day

Luke 10:27

We learn three principles about loving our neighbor;
  • Lack of love is often easy to justify, even though it is never right.
  • Our neighbor is anyone of any race, creed, or social background who is in need; and
  • Love means acting to meet the persons need. Wherever you live, there are needy people close by. There is no good reason for refusing to help.
10 rules for a blessed day are
  1. Today I will not strike back. . .
    • If someone is rude if someone is impatient. If someone is unkind, I will not respond in a like manner.
  2. Today I will ask God to bless my enemy. . .
    • If I come across someone who treats me harshly or unfairly, I will quietly ask God to bless that individual. I understand "enemy" could be a family member, neighbor, co-worker or stranger.
  3. Today I will be careful about what I say. . .
    • I will carefully choose and guard my words being certain that I do not spread gossip.
  4. Today I will go the extra mile. . .
    • I will find ways to help share the burden of another person.
  5. Today I will forgive. . .
    • I will forgive any hurts or injuries that come my way.
  6. Today I will do something kind for someone, (But I will do it in SECRET. . .)
    • I will reach out anonymously and bless the life of another.
  7. Today I will treat others the way I wish to be treated. . .
    • I will practice the golden rule. "Do unto others as I would have them do unto me." with everyone I encounter.
  8. Today I will raise the spirits of someone who is discouraged. . .
  9. Today I will nurture my body. . .
    • I will eat less. . . I will eat only healthy foods. I will thank God for my body.
  10. Today I will grow spiritually. . .
    • I will spend a little more time in prayer today. I will begin reading something spiritual or inspirational; I will find a quiet place (at some point during this day) and listen to God's voice.

The 5 Love Languages, The Secret to Love that Lasts (Gary Chapman)

Simple Ideas, Lasting Love. Between busy schedules and long days, expressing love can fall by the wayside. We forget to compliment, to give gifts "just because," to linger in our embrace. The things that say "I love you" seem to either not get said or not get through. This is a book about saying it and hearing it clearly. No gimmicks. No psychoanalyzing. Just learning to express love in your spouse's language.

The Millionaire Next Door (Stanley/Danko)

This is the never before the unearthed story about America's rich-and how they got that way. According to authors Thomas J Stanley and William D Danko, most people have it all wrong about how you become wealthy in America. It is seldom inheritance or advanced degrees or even intelligence that builds fortunes in this country. Wealth in America is more often the result of hard work, diligent savings, and living below your means. The Millionaire Next Door will tell you the seven common denominators that show up again and again among those who have accumulated wealth.

Book Review - God Is Able

God is Able (Priscilla Shirer)

Nothing is Impossible with God.
Nothing

Not even that thing. Your thing. The one thing that seems to defy all attempts to defeat it, restore it, heal it, change it, overcome it, undo it, or just to get through it.

If you've lost even an ounce of confidence in the power and loving attention of God-if experience has told you that faith must simply acquiesce to impossibility-it's time somebody told you differently.

Bible teacher and best-selling author Pricilla Shirer explores two power-packed verses of scripture, displacing your doubts and rebuilding your assurance-not in a blind attempt to deny life's adversities and troubles but to show you that God is always up to great things. Amazing things. He's a God who cares, and a God who CAN!

Believe it.
Experience it.
God is Able.

Text: Acts 16:25-34

Problems we face today:

  • Self-inflicted problems (you want to blame something or someone)
  • Others inflicted problems
  • Satan inflicted problems
    • Concor your flesh and wear the armour of God, Satan tends to attack.
  • You start: Phil 1:3
    • Complaining
    • Faithless Attitude
    • Depression
    • Blame Others
  • What do these accomplish?
How Paul & Silas stayed peaceful in prison:

  • They prayed to their saviour - vs 25a (you tell everyone else your problems when we should be going to God) 1 Pet 5:7, Luke 12:5-7
  • They praised with their song vs 25b, 1 Cor 1:29
  • They preached to the seeker vs 26-31
  • They proved God is superiority vs 25c (the prisoners heard them) vs 32-35, they proved to Gods superiority. So stop and pray, sing onto the Lord, and let him guide you. "If it's not for the rocks in its bed, the stream would have no song." - Carl Perkins

    Bible Study Idea #8

Study the bible using the inductive method
    The inductive method comprises of;
    • Observation - is seeing what the text is saying.
    • Interpretation - is discovering what the text means.
    • Application - is putting yourself in the text and imagining how would you handle it.
Ask yourself who, what, when, where, why and think how does it reflect in your life. Inductive signals that I use are God (Lord), Spirit (Holy Spirit), Die (Death), Devil (Evil spirits, Mediums, serpent), Love, Gods Love, Grace, Time, geographic location, Orange Line (who the scripture is talking about), Light Blue Line (who wrote the scripture, the author).

    Bible Study Idea #7

    Prayer

Prayer is important to have during the time of Bible study. This can bring more understanding to what you are studying.
While you pray you must remember the book of ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication).
    • Adoration - I start my prayers with "Lord you are gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and of great mercy". This is from Psalms 145:8 (KJV). Just adore the Lord. He is the Alpha and the Omega, beautiful, our father, a friend, and a forgiving God.
    • Confession - If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me, Psalms 66:18 (KJV) Confession is asking God to open your eyes and reveal you're wrong doing. Confession brings restoration and healing from the Holy Spirit.
    • Thanksgiving - Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people, 1 Chronicle 16:8 (KJV) Go ahead give all the thanks to God who created everything. Give thanks for another beautiful day and good health (including your fingers and toes - what would you do without them?)
    • Supplication - Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God, Philippians 4:6 (KJV). Here is where you ask God for your request, for your needs and others as they are important too.

    Bible Study Idea #5

    The A.E.I.O.U Bible Study Method

The A.E.I.O.U method of the Bible reading and study is a fun way to approach the Word.

A-stands for "Ask Questions" (We have the who, what, when, where, why and how) you can ask for better clarity and understanding of the word.
E-stands for "Emphasize keywords and Phrases" Notice what words stand out in the text or are repeated. (Dictionary for a definition)
I-stands for "in your own words" Try writing a brief summary of the text. Paraphrase it. (This helps if you are sleepy and ready to give in to the flesh)
O-stands for"Other related scriptures" Notice the cross-references, or try to think of other places in the Bible that refer to something about what you're reading. (Concordance for references)
U-stand for "Use what you've read" Make this an application of yourself.

Focus on the last letter, you don't want to just read and go away unchanged or unmotivated. Find something to put into practice, to memorize, or to share with others. In other words, respond to what you've read. "But ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22

    Bible Study Idea #4

We can approach the Word of God in so many ways, and some of these techniques help us get a fresh vision of God's purpose in giving us the Scriptures. When studying you need to have a dictionary and a concordance nearby.

The S.O.A.K or P Bible Study Method

S-stands for "Scripture" (write down the scripture you are studying).
O-stands for "Observation" (What stands out to you)
A-stands for "Application" (What is God saying to you), How can you apply them to your life?
K or P-stands for"Kneeling or Prayer" (Pray and confess your sins, praise him for the things he has done)

This method is more focusing on the scripture, memorization and what does the bible have to say about your living and what you need to do to follow the word of God.

    Woman's Conference @ Heritage Baptist Church (2016)

    Woman's Conference @ Heritage Baptist Church (2016)
    November 5,2016-Fall in Love

    Session I - Forgiveness

    Text: Phil 3:13-14

    F-Forget is hard to forget!
To forgive we must forget and move past it. We all have bad things that need to forgive and wise versa. Everyone has been hurt especially friend & family, wakeup forgetting.

    O-Obedience Ephesians 4:32
In obedience to Christ, we need to forget.

    R-Relief, Proverbs 25:21-23, research on vs.22.
In other Countries everything is carried on there head, they don't touch it with there hand, food, warmth, home to the enemy. You need to keep your heaping coals on the fire. Respond with Love.

    G-Grace, James 4:6
God's Grace is what helps us to forgive, start with forgiving ourself's

    I-I choose, James 5:16.
Forgiveness has to do about you, do not live with bitterness. Who are you punishing by being angry or bitter? (Yourself)
We are supposed to be dead to the flesh, and glorified and growing with the Lord. We need to choose to forgive, choose your battles, "I am not dying in that mountain." You need to find a medium, not let everything hurt your feeling always give it to God.

    V-Vengence is mine - Proverbs 20:22.
You need to leave it with the Lord, he will take care of it without like us the flesh.

    E-Effect, Hebrews 12:15
Who does it affect? Your husband, kids, family. By forgiving you can have a better relationship, there is a certain mountain we are not going to die on. . . But letting go is less stress, lower blood pressure, antipathy, depression, stronger immune system, heart health, better self-esteem.

LEARN to FORGIVE others and yourself.

    Bible Study Idea #1

All you need are a few highlighters and pencils.

Hope you can see, just highlight the important words, I still use the black pen and red. Red for Satan and black for flesh or death. Mercy, Grace, and of, by or in Jesus Christ are circled in Red then followed by highlighters.
