Lifting up the Coronation of Christ

Text: Mat 17:1-8; Phil 2:5-11

• Mat 16; Mat 16:26-28 - Tells us about the church
• Eph 9:12 - Not of works but by faith
• Titus 3:5 - Not of works
• You are a sinner
• He will bring you trials that you will not understand but he wants to see your obedience (Abraham) up in the mountain.

Christ Transfigured

• Metaphor - to change an appearance, to be changed. (metamorphose, butterflies)

1. His place in Heaven
2. His pitty on mankind (Isaiah 6; Gen 2; Gen 6; Gen 9; Phil 2:6; Joh 1:1-3; Rev 5:13; Rom 8; Joh 14-16)
3. His position among mankind (Phil 2:7)
• What he rejected
• What he embraced
4. His punishment among mankind (Phil 2:8)
• Song, Poem, God crucifixion (2 Cor 9:14)

• Why do we struggle and battle with our flesh?

• Conformed-to falls in and is like everyone else.
4. The process of transforming - (Romans 12:2)
• Transformed-renewing of your mind.
• Are you making an effort to live like Jesus?
5. The prizes that await
• Crown of life (James 1:12)
• Incorruptible crown (1 Cor 9:25)
• Crown of righteousness (2 Tim 4:8)
• Crown of glory (1 Pet 5:2-4)
• Crown of exaltation (1 Thes 2:19)

All together: You Christian want to work hard here, so when you go to heaven and give them all to the king to lay on his feet.

What to do with the wayward (LOST)

Text: Luke 15:11-24

Rebellion - I want to do what I want to do.

1. The wayward disinterest - vs.12
2. The father's decision - vs.12
3. The wayward's departure - vs.13
4. The wayward's delight - vs.13, 30
• You won't always lie your si, give it time.
• You cannot help someone until they are ready to be helped.
5. The wayward's destruction - vs.14-16
• God knows when to send the feminine.
• Let sin hurt, they need to feel the pain of sin.
6. The wayward's debasement - vs.17-18
• "and when he came to himself"
• Signs - still playing the BLAME game.
• They won't disassociate with the wrong people (crowd).
• They must leave the avenue were sins are.
• Continue life of lies & deceits & manipulations.
7. The father's devotion - vs. 20-24
• He hoped daily
• He prayed daily
• He forgave daily
• He watched daily

God's Amazing Faithfulness

Text: 1 King 8:54-57

• God is faithful all the way even when we are not faithful to him.
• He remains faithful even when we dought him.
• We need to comprehend God's faithfulness.

His Faithfulness. . .

1. Is preserved in scripture - vs. 24 - 2 Sam 7:12-13
• Look back at the seven days of creation in Genesis. What do you see today? God is faithful (the sun came up this morning, & the moon will be out tonight)nod is faithful.
2. Punishes the iniquitous - vs.33 - Prov 3:11-12
• When (vs 11-12) teach how to punish
• Sin consequences (God walk away) run its course
• Rebuke of others
• Direct innovations
• Don't shake your fist at God (humble your heart)
3. Pardons the repentant - vs.34
• Moses & the golden caf
• You must be truly sorry for your sin
• Cigarettes through away the box & never pick another one up.
• vs.35 - you cannot be saved today unless you truly understand, that Jesus became your sin.
• Provides salvation to the stranger - vs.41-43
• Is plenteous in restoration - v.46-50

Lifting Up The Church of Christ

Text: Mat 16:13-20

• Jesus Christ at the cross became our sin - John 12:32.
• Character, Compassion, Cross, Causes of Christ.
• We need to do Home God's way.

God created government, taxes, authority, church

Lifting up the church

1. The creation of the church

A. It's beginning - vs. 13, vs. 16

• When did the church begin? does it really matter, what matters is who created the church - vs. 18.
• Petraeus - Thin soil layer & layer of rocks.

B. It's booming - Acts 1:15; Acts 2:41; Acts 4:4; Acts 2:47 (added daily) Acts 6:1; Acts 6:7

C. It's a blessing

• Satan Tactics - Persecution, Acts 8:1
• Apostasy (false doctrine), comfort (not using the bible for life lesson)

2. The Core of the Church

• You need church & a relationship with God.
• You can worship God anywhere, but not church is not a church until you have a pastor, deacon, baptism & Lord supper.
• The Bible says we need the church.
• A pastor - Eph 4:11-12
• It's people - Eph 4:16

3. The care of the church (when leaders let you down)

• A place for sinners
• A place for saints (Holy pure divine)
• A place for songs
• A place for sermons (138 Bible)
• A place for service

4. The cleansing of the church

• The washing - Eph 5:25-26
• The wedding - Eph 5:27
• The church is a priority, invite, participate, faithful.
