"Word" Defined
- Dictionary: a unit of language. . . that actions as a principle carrier of meaning. 5) an press ion of utterance 6) warrant, assurance, promise
- Strong's: (OT) something said to answer, appoint, avouch, certify, challenge; a commandment, speech; a matter spoken of; an answer, command, declaration, promise, pronouncement, intreaty
- (NT) something said; reasoning or motive; expression.
- In the Old Testament-came to many men (creation, judgment, law, leading, prophecy)
- The certainty of God's Word (Prov 22:17-21)
- Thy Word is Truth (Jn 17:17)
- Word became flesh (Jn 1:14)
- Word of the Gospel (Col 1:5, Heb 6:5, Jms 1:18)
- The "cutting" word
- Holy Spirit (Eph 6:17)
- Quick, powerful (Heb 4:12)
God's Word. . .
- has authority (Lk 4:32, 36, Rom 9:9, Eph 1:13)
