    • Rest is all we want (need)
    • Isaiah 57:20
    • We all need rest
    • God commanded the Israelites to rest (exodus 20:8-11; 23:12; Lev 23:3; Mark 6:31)
    • We also need Spiritual rest
    • We need 3 things for our human Spirit
      • 1.A consciousness of safety, how can we rest when our eternal destinies are uncertain? 1 Pet 5:8, Isaiah 31:4,  Psalms 55:6
      • Jesus gave his life to break the power of Satan.
      • He lives to Guarantee our safety, Heb 13:20, Rom 8:34, John 8:28, Psalms 121:5, 1 John 5:18.
  • Sufficiency of food
    • feed us with the word!
    • Just as a hungry sheep cannot lie down, so also we can never rest when our souls are hungry and thirsty. This unrest of the Soul leads humans to try religion, addictions, good deeds, to fill the void. John 6:35. We need rest; he beckons us to take it.
  • Obedience to Shepherd's lead the most loving shepherd cannot bring his flock to rest unless they follow him. (John 10:27, Matt 11:29, Psalm 116:7)
    • Lead us to him!
    • He shows us still waters so we are not afraid, to bring calmness.
Challenge: Hand over to God anything that breaks the stillness of your spirit.
