Psalm 90: The Plan B Prayer Lesson 1: Moses the Man of God

Introduction: "Moses was a man of close fellowship with God. He was called a "man of God," "servant of God," and more intimately, the man "whom the Lord knew face to face." (Deut 33:1, 34:10)

  1. Moses, the Man of God (Exodus)
    • The great and mighty ways God used Moses.
    • The disappointments and not so great moments.
    • 1 Thessalonians 2:13-We must see God and His work whenever we look at anyone's life, especially our own.
  2. Moses, the Meekest Man on Earth (Numbers 12:3)
    • Moses response to God's discipline (Deuteronomy 32:4)
      • God's work is perfect
      • God is just and right
    • God says the meek will. . .
      • eat & be satisfied (Psalms 22:26)
      • be guided by God in judgment & be taught His way (Psalms 25:9)
      • will inherit the earth (Psalms 37:11)
  3. It's All in Your Attitude
    • 'The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem." 1 Cor 6:20, Eph 4:23, 2 Tim 1:7, Phil 1:25
    • "We can grow bitter and resentful, even push forward without God. Or we can respond with meekness. Col 3:12, Gal 5:22-23, 1 Pet 3:4, 1 Tim 6:5-12.
Conclusion: Are you striving for a "perfect life" in an imperfect world?

Deeper Study:
  1. What do Colossians 1:17 and Hebrews 1:3 say about how the universe is supported?
  2. What does Jeremiah 23:24 say about God?
  3. With these facts in view, is Hebrews 13:5 a realistic promise?
  4. According to Matthew 18:20, where can we experience God's special presence?
  5. If we are not sensing God's presence in our lives, what may be the case (2 Chronicles 15:2)?
  6. If we do seek God, what will He be to us in times of trouble and turmoil (Psalms 62:8)?
