Psalms 90 - The plan B prayer introduction

Psalms 90

Introduction: Psalm 90 was written (By David, a prayer of Moses)

The lessons will help us to learn how to experience (blessings when the beautified condition I once Imagined for my life is out of reach.

  1. Promised Land
    • Milk & Honey (Exodus 3:8)
    • Represents abundant, victorious Christian life (Hebrews 3:14-19, 4:4-10) (Voice, Believe, Obey)
    • Not Heaven (Canaan was a place of abundant Christian life) not harden your heart.
  2. Correlation between Canaan and Christian Experiences (1 Corinthians 10:1-11)
    • Israel lost Canaan because (disobedience & unbelief)
    • Moses lost Canaan because of (stroke the rock one act) Numbers 20:6-11, Psalms 106:32-33.
  3. Looking at Psalms 90. . .
    • Each verse is filled with (Disappointment) and (Promise).
    • We will . . .
      • Draw conclusions, that are upfront & clear.
      • Follow the progression of its principle.
      • Let the truth take me where it will.
Conclusion: I live in a fallen, sin-cursed world. My ideas and dreams may not be attainable, whether I am at fault or not. But can I accept the journey God does have for me and still praise and glorified him?

Deeper Discussion:
  1. Numbers 12:3 describes Moses as
  2. Read Psalms 22:26, 25:9, and 37:11. According to these verses what does God do for someone like Moses?
  3. In Hebrews 3:1-2, with whom is Moses compared here? What character trait did they share?
  4. In Deuteronomy 32:4, what is Moses reponse to God's discipline in his life?
